Make your third grade social studies economics unit a little more fun! Middletown Market is a marketplace full of goods and services and other economic topics. All activities are built upon the market. There are lessons, hands-on activities, task cards, posters, vocabulary and practice pages.
There are activities on goods and services, producers and consumers, budgets, opportunity cost, scarcity, decision making, incentives, economic competition, supply and demand, entrepreneur, and types of resources.
A short introduction to a lesson is provided along with a teaching poster. An activity is provided to reinforce the lesson. Finally, follow up the lesson with a practice page. Vocabulary for the unit and task cards for review are also included.
*This resource was updated in 2023. More businesses were added to the Marketplace to allow for more discussion and comparison to your own community. A new bingo game has been included in which students cut apart the words and glue in any order to make a bingo card. An answer key is also included.
