What educators are saying

I used this at the end of the school year when the students were learning about economics. It was such a great way to keep them engaged in learning.

Description

Teach students about economics, financial literacy, and personal finance with this Economics Powerpoint lesson. Students will not only learn about basic economics concepts like supply and demand, but they will also learn how to make a personal budget.

Economics Topics Included:

  1. Basic Economics: Productive capacity, resources, capital goods, specialization, division of labor
  2. 4 Sectors of the Economy: households, private businesses, banking, and government
  3. Entrepreneurs
  4. Checking and Savings Accounts
  5. Consumers and Producers
  6. Markets and Prices
  7. Scarcity and Surplus
  8. Supply and Demand
  9. Making a Personal Budget: income, expenses, spending, saving, opportunity cost

  • The PowerPoint lesson includes 108 slides filled with information, pictures, discussion questions, videos, and interactive websites to engage students.
  • I have also included guided notes that students can use to follow along while you teach.
  • I use this lesson with 5th graders, but it can easily be incorporated in a middle school classroom.
