Description

Want to add some fun to lessons on goods and services for your second or third graders? Combine economics with history in this engaging set of activities! Your students will read original articles on how food got from farms to stores in Colonial America, and how it gets there now. Then, they'll work in groups to create a game that shows they understand the problems that can happen (sick horses! harvest machines breaking! bad weather!).

To make this lesson even more fun, they'll switch games with another group and play a game about the economics of goods and services from a different era.

You'll save instructional time by having both history and economics in the same lesson, and your students will be masters of how goods and services move to the market.

☀Your second or third grade social studies students will love creating their own game and seeing their peers play it!

☀This resource is suprisingly low-prep. Simply print, cut, and go! You'll get teacher instructions, classroom procedures, printable game elements, and a rubric.

☀You'll get awesome questions to guide classroom discussion!
