I used this when I was doing stations in class and they enjoyed completing this. I made it a competitive game by seeing who could come up with the most resources in 5 minutes!
This helped students to understand the factors of production in a way that broke it down into each factor. I modified the hair salon one to allow students to come up with their own business and describe their factors of production for it.
Description
Economics- Factors of Production- Opening an Italian Restaurant and Hair Salon
This activity will have students thinking about the four factors of production- natural resources, human resources, capital resources, and entrepreneurial resources. For the first activity, students will pretend they are opening an Italian restaurant and make a list of what natural, human, capital, and entrepreneurial resources they would need. The students will then do the same thing for a hair salon. The document is set up with each activity separate and space for students to list their items for each resource. A very detailed answer key is provided for you.
