Easter Egg CVC Literacy Center FREE
About this book
This unit contains a CVC literacy center for use with plastic Easter eggs. Included are 20 picture cards for each short vowel sound and response sheets.
Directions for use
To prepare the activity for use, print on card stock the picture cards you wish to use on. Laminate them for durability (optional) and cut around each circle or along the straight lines. Print the corresponding letter tiles, laminate them for durability and cut along the straight lines. Alternatively, instead of using the letter tiles, Scrabble letter tiles, small magnetic letters or other small letters may be used. Print the worksheets you wish to use. Please note: 2 types have been included for differentiation purposes - one with and one without the mixed words; please print only the version you wish to use.
Place each picture card and corresponding letter tiles inside the plastic eggs. Close the eggs and place them together with their matching worksheets.
The aim is for children to open an egg, say the name of the picture and, using the letter tiles inside, make a word to match. Once the word has been made, children locate the same picture on the worksheet and write the word on the lines provided.
This activity can be used without plastic eggs too; simply place the picture cards and letter tiles inside an envelope, small zip-lock bag or another storage device of your choice.
