    Description

This Easter theme "Build an Easter Basket" adapted book and "Put-in" craft bundle is a great way to practice size, color, shape, quantity, Easter vocabulary, and more using repetitive text in a fun and interactive way. Students practice communication, making choices, fine motor skills, and more!

    Adapted Book:

*This is a new bundle and craft, but you could have already purchased this book.

This Easter themed “Build an Easter Basket” adapted book is an interactive way to practice identifying colors, numbers, sizes, more and less, and basic concepts using repetitive text.

Students choose the size of the chocolate bunny, the color of the marshmallow bunny, the quantity of carrots and jelly beans, the design of the Easter egg, the size of the chick stuffed animal, and the color of the bow and flower. Each part is attached to the inside of the Easter Basket page (or "put-in" with the additional front of basket template) for students to build their own unique Easter Basket. After choosing each part of the Easter basket, students will fill in a sentence by choosing the correct icon describing the part by color, size, quantity, etc.

For example: “My basket has a [big] chocolate bunny.”

“My basket has [more] jelly beans.”

    “My basket has [2] carrots.”

This book can be used over and over to create different Easter Baskets.

Visuals are included in the sentences to help identify words while reading the sentence aloud.

    Included:

    -cover page

    -1 Easter Basket page

    -1 "put in" basket front

-8 book pages with fill in the blank sentences and visuals

-8 pages of basket parts (chocolate bunny, marshmallow bunny, Easter egg, jelly beans, stuffed chick, bow, flower, carrots)

    - 22 choice icons with pictures

    Craft and Communication Activity

This Easter or Spring theme "Put-in the Easter Basket" Craft and Communication Activity for Autism, Speech Therapy, and Special Education is an interactive way to practice describing words including colors, size (big and small, tall/short) quantity, holiday words, and more using repetitive text.

2 options are available- "Put-in" or "put on" and with or without choices.

Students color their basket or use the color version. Then students choose the color, size, quantity, etc... of the eggs, chocolate bunnies, jelly beans, bow, flower, stuffed animal chick, marshmallow candy, and more.

Requesting visual choices and sentence starter prompts are also available to request supplies -glue, colors of markers/crayons, scissors, etc...

After choosing each part, students will fill in sentences using sentence strip prompts to talk about the colors of the items and label the objects in the basket. You can use the sentence prompt page as a group or have one for each student.

    -”The color is….”

    - “The basket has [jelly beans.]"

    - “My basket has a [pink] [marshmallow]."

-"It is a [big] [stuffed animal.]

    -"Can I have [scissors] please?"

    -"Can I have a [green][marker] please?"

2 sentence strip prompt versions are included- one for pointing (less prep) and one that can be used as a movable icon with laminate and velcro.

This activity can be used individually or as a whole group. The sentence strip prompts can be used as a single page or in a file folder format.

    Included:

    -basket template (b/w or color)

    -basket front template

    -2 versions of cut/paste clothing

    -sentence starters- 4

    -requesting supply visuals (2)
