Description

Do your preschool and kindergarten students need practice counting arrays of objects from 1-10? These Earth Day Activities mini posters of colorful recyclables and nature items are just right for Earth Day study and reinforcing reuse, reduce, and recycle concepts. Print and laminate the posters for a fun count the room activity.

This interactive and fun activity gives your preschool, kindergarten, or special education students practice counting Earth Day - themed pictures in arrays from 1 through 10 and then writing the appropriate numeral on differentiated recording sheets. Skills targeted include numeral writing and 1:1 correspondence.

There is built-in extra value with this download because you receive three additional picture counting cards for each poster. That is a total of four versions in one!

Print and laminate the posters for durability and hang them around the classroom. Or place them in a basket in your math center for a less active alternative.

Students take a recording sheet, clipboard, and crayon and visit each poster. They count the items on the lower half of the poster and write the answer on one of three individualized recording sheets. This fun count the room activity is differentiated:

  • beginners trace the grey numerals
  • Others write the correct numeral from a sheet with an answer bank.
  • More experienced learners write the numeral without a visual cue.

***I've included three alternative sets of the lower half of each poster labeled B, C, and D. Change the bottom half of the posters for four different versions of the activity.

Great for review or as a convenient activity for a substitute teacher in your classroom.

This download of Earth Day Count the Room includes:

• 10 posters

• 15 pages of 3 sets of interchangeable counting arrays

• 6 recording sheets, differentiated for varying levels of writing skills

• 2 pages of numeral cards and storage labels

• 2 pages of directions for assembly and use
