What educators are saying

My students had so much fun with this activity! I shut off all the lights in our classroom and closed all the blinds to get it as dark as could be, then I had the students use their phone flashlight as light from a "fire" to create their drawings underneath their desks!

Description

This product is an engaging activity for students to apply information learned about early humans during the paleolithic and neolithic time periods.

Students can work on the activity independently or in a group. They can do the activity on poster board, sketch paper, or bulletin board paper.

I give my students 2 days on this assignment. I use bulletin board paper with my class and allow them to work in groups. On the first day, I turn off the lights and give them flashlights. I have them tape their mural paper under their table to draw the required images so that they feel like real cavemen. Then, on the second day, I have them finish their images above the table with the lights on. They present their murals at the end of the class period.

My students absolutely love this activity. It serves as a fun, quick, and easy way for them to apply their knowledge of paleolithic lifestyles and how this changed after the farming revolution and neolithic period began.
