COUNTING, WRITING, COMPARING, and SORTING NUMBERS 6 – 10

This Exit Ticket /Exit Slips pack is a great addition to any Math Curriculum for Kindergarten. Math exit slips or exit tickets are the perfect way to assess your students in a formative way to see if they can can count objects, say the number names in standard order, pair each object with one and only one number up to 10 objects, if they understand that each successive number name is 1 more than the previous number. It also assess them to see if they can compare two groups of objects then compare numbers to find which is greater and which is less, can sort object by attributes, then count and compare the groups. As well as if they can use pictures, counters, and 10-frames to find combinations of numbers to make 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10.

This resource includes 53 exit tickets to assess kindergartners. It offers teachers a quick and easy way to check for student's understanding. Also, comes with a scoring sheet to keep records of mastery which can be used as a guild for instruction. Each ticket has the "I Can Statement". All Standard and I Can Statements are listed on a Cover sheet. Standards are NOT on each exit ticket pages making it user friendly. Each exit ticket is a full page with multiple questions to prove mastery. Each exit ticket has an answer key.

You may wish to print and place them in a sheet protector in a binder. You can use the same ticket to assess each of your students to check on mastery. This will make it easy for you to differentiate your instruction throughout the year.

Standards

Count to 100 by ones and by tens.
Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1).
Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
