Description

Personal narrative writing can be tricky to support, especially as students draw from memories of their own experiences. This resource will guide students through brainstorming and organizing in the prewriting and drafting stages of the writing process!

Here, you have just what you need in order to provide scaffolding for ELLs of all levels (and any reluctant writers!) as they begin the writing process. ESL Newcomers will excel with these writing supports! You do not need to use every page and every graphic organizer with every student; choose the supports that are the best fit for your students.

Worried about students successfully completing this independently? The digital version can be entirely self-directed because audio links read the directions and guide students to understand what to write on each slide! There are no tricky formatting issues; the only clickable content on each slide is the text box where students will type. Your students will be able to complete the digital version regardless of reading level!

See what others had to say about this resource:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This really is a resource that is accessible to EL students; it doesn't overload them with directions and information, and it specifically gives them space to think of what vocabulary they plan to use in their writing so that they can be intentional with their word choice. -Vince S.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I used this resource for an introduction lesson with level 2 and 3 EL students. It gave enough support that they were able to write a brief personal narrative. -Margaret-Jean R.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐This is such a great resource! I was able to use this with my Level 1 EL students. -Sleep Teach Repeat
