EL Education 5th Grade Newsela Informational Text Guide for the Entire Year

All 4 Modules now included!

This guide is meant to give you up to 4-article options to teach each week of the school year. It is aligned with the free EL Education Curriculum available for download on their website.

However, you do NOT need to use the EL Curriculum to use this guide. The guide includes a whole year of articles around four themes (human rights, biodiversity and the rainforest, athletes as agents of social change, and the impact of natural disasters).

Each article is directly linked along with:

• The grade level available
• The Lexile range
• The text structure of the article
• Whether there is a Spanish translation

This allows the busy teacher to easily assign Newsela articles as homework, guided reading groups, or stations that are aligned to the EL Education Curriculum in minutes!
