Looking for a simplified EKG / ECG Lesson to introduce cardiac arrhythmias that your students will love? Look no further! If you've ever tried to make your own EKG Introductory Lesson you know just how overwhelming that task can be. This collaborative learning activity narrows arrhythmias down to the 7 most common or most life threatening and is completely student led! There is no active teaching required on your part :) Simply print, set up the 7 sheets of patients arrhythmias around your room, put students in pairs, give them the info sheets and worksheets, then let them go! This is always a hit with my medical magnet anatomy students & they feel like they can read real medical EKG's and diagnose arrhythmias. Students do not need any prior knowledge. It may be helpful to briefly explain the PQRST wave, but not necessary.
Need to give this to absent students or assign virtually? No problem! Simply email the student the Worksheet, 7 Patients Stations & Class Info Set and they can complete it in Google Docs. You may post this to you Google Classroom as long no other teachers or administrators can access my work.
This EKG Stations Activity covers the following arrhythmias:
- Normal Sinus Rhythm, Sinus Bradycardia, Sinus Tachycardia, Premature Ventricular Contractions, Atrial Fibrillation, Ventricular Fibrillation, Ventricular Tachycardia and Asystole
