Introduce students to the disconcerting genre of dystopian short stories and novels with this quick and comprehensive web quest! This dystopian web quest lesson and activity is three pages of graphic organizers to help guide students into research and learning! A 5-minute TedEd video link is included to help facilitate learning and engagement.

This web quest is useful for any dystopian text or unit!

By the end of this activity students will know: What a dystopia and utopia are, who first used each term, the traits of dystopian literature, and the four types of dystopian government control. Crucially, students will understand how utopias turn into dystopias!
