What educators are saying

My students loved using this resource right before our unit on vacations in Spanish class. I loved that it was very structured as that works best for my students. They had a lot of fun planning their dream vacations and it helped me get to know them better.
I needed something an idea to teach inquiry and research after our state test. My students are tired and not motivated. I wanted something that would be fun and engaging to teach the research process and this worked perfectly. I liked it so much, I'm going to buy the bundle.

Description

Embark on an exciting research adventure with your middle school students as they plan their dream vacation! This resource provides a comprehensive and enjoyable framework to guide both you and your students through a captivating research project that brings their ideal getaway to life.

Within this resource, you will find everything you need to seamlessly facilitate this short but engaging research project. From instructions to helpful resources, this resource takes the guesswork out of the planning process, allowing you to focus on guiding and inspiring your students.

By inviting students to delve into the realm of travel, exploration, and personal preferences, this project empowers them to unleash their imagination and hone their research skills. From selecting their dream destination to researching attractions, accommodations, and local cuisine, students will embark on a virtual journey that combines their personal interests with valuable research techniques.

As students gather information, analyze data, and create compelling presentations, they will enhance their critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills. This project offers a holistic learning experience that goes beyond the boundaries of traditional research, fostering curiosity, creativity, and a deeper understanding of the world.

This resource includes a digital Google Slides version that provides more structure for students who need it. This version can also be used in class or for distance learning.

Included in this resource:

Student planning sheets: I have included a student instruction sheet and a planning sheet. The instruction sheet gives basic information about the project and a place for students to write a due date. The planning sheet gives students the opportunity to plan out their slideshow before they begin working. You could have them turn the planning sheet in to you before beginning their slideshow for approval.

Teacher grading rubric: The rubric is designed so you can assess the students during their presentation. Simply circle the appropriate box under each category. I have left a space for you to write what students did well and where they can improve.

Student listening guide: The student listening guide is for the other students in the classroom to use during presentations. Many times, students get bored during presentations. This will give students an opportunity to practice their listening skills.
