Draw A Better Face

Draw a Better Face is a pack of four sheets designed to help students become more aware of how the human face is drawn. By using guidelines and placement techniques, students will be amazed at how much better their drawing looks once they understand the proportions.

Learning Objective: Students will be able to draw a better face using correct proportions.

How I Use the Sheets: These sheets are INCLUDED with my Sleeping Bag Art Project Inspired by Gustav Klimt which is also in my store on TpT. If you are looking for a slide presentation lesson with handouts and illustrated directions, check that out first before purchasing just the sheets.

Extra Teaching Tips: As an art teacher for K-6, I have a 40 minute art period so I pass out the “Face Practice” sheet and students draw a face BEFORE instruction. Then I do a guided drawing using the “Draw a Better Face” sheet. The most common mistake kids make is drawing the eyes too high on the face. Also HAIR IS A SHAPE! This is huge! After one demonstration, students practice on their own (usually the next week).
