What educators are saying

Excellent resource! My students had fun creating their own fractured fairy tales. It was a great way to end the fairy tales unit.

Description

This drama assignment package focuses on "Fractured Fairy Tales". This assignment includes lesson plans about what a fractured fairy tale is. As well as a student worksheet to follow along with the introduction lesson, which works well as a pre-assessment for students. In this assignment, students are given a well known fairy tale and have to "fracture" it. It is a great way for students to work in groups and practice their presenting skills for the final performance (reader's theatre style). I have used this assignment with both Grade 6 and 7. Both grades absolutely loved it! They thought it was so exciting that they could write their own script!

Also included in this assignment package:
- Assignment outline
- Full printable student assignment
- Script writing template
- Story planner
- Original fairy tales for students to work with
- Assessment rubric
- Conferring and observation sheet for assessment
