Description
This oil pastel art lesson has been a hit with my middle school art students every time, this is definitely a student favorite!! Students will be using oil pastels to draw a realistic eye with implied textures and value changes while using tints and shades of a color to create shadows and highlights. PowerPoint slides and/or PDF slides can be shown to your students in class or remotely. The slides include standards (create art work requiring sequentially ordered steps and required media to achieve intended results. VA.68.S.2.2), day by day goals, objectives, vocabulary (texture, implied texture, tactile texture, pattern and emphasis), project guidelines, student examples, and a YouTube video art tutorial to demonstrate oil pastel steps and techniques. In addition, the lesson offers the opportunity for students to learn about artist Johannes Vermeer and how he created a strong light source & highlights and shadows in his artwork. The end results are unique and one of a kind masterpieces.
ALSO Includes: 20 Animal eyes ready to print & step by step drawing handout for student use & reflection questions worksheet.
