Description

This game is a great way for your students to practice their math facts in class or at home!

With each question -- from 1+1 to 12+12 -- students can click on the answer they think is correct and get immediate feedback. When they click on the correct answer, they move forward to the next question.

Please click on "view preview" above to see a sample of this slideshow, to see how this works.

Be sure to share these Google Slides so that students can view it -- but not edit. The game is played in presentation mode, so students should click on "present" so that it will work correctly.

An Easel assessment is also included. This has the advantage of saving results so that you can evaluate student learning.

Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 + 4 = 12, one knows 12 - 8 = 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 + 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 + 6 + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13).
