Description

Working as an elective teacher, I am always on the hunt for grants to help fund my programs. However, I found that it was much more successful to raise funds through the community.

There are two versions of a donation letter that you can edit and use for your classroom. The letter can also serve as evidence for the donator who may want to claim it on their taxes!

As a culinary teacher, our funds mostly come straight from the profits made in catering events. Unfortunately, it was still limiting so it was up to my students to ask businesses (that they already had a contact at) about donating to their cause. It worked like a charm! In one semester, we raised about $2000!

This could also be easily used as an example for writing a letter in ELA or business-related classes.
