Description

This unit consists of six lessons in PowerPoint format designed to teach middle-grade students how to analyze DBQ questions and informational sources. These particular lessons use primary sources from the colonial era of American history. Students will be expected to have a general understanding of colonial and pre-revolution history. Each lesson begins with essential questions and "I can" statements for your learner. The handouts provided guide students to understand DBQ analysis through graphic organizers. The lessons emphasize question and source analysis in order to brainstorm answers to DBQ questions. Rubrics, grading guidelines, and parent communication can also be found in the supplemental handout materials totaling 28 pages. The PowerPoint includes six mini-lessons totaling 76 slides.
