Description

Do you have frequent flyers to the health room or nurses office? Post this W.O.W. sign in your classroom! On the first day of school, I explain to the students that if they feel sick, I'm going to ask them first to do W.O.W. which stands for "Water, Oxygen, Wait."

It's amazing how many students feel better after doing "W.O.W."

If a student comes to me and says they don't feel good, I point them toward the sign hung near our drinking fountain. After doing the three things, (especially the ten minute wait), they will often feel fine or forget they "felt sick." Obviously, please send truly sick kids to the health room, but this should help with those that aren't truly sick.

Print it, laminate it, and post it near the drinking fountain. For me, it greatly decreases the amount of students throughout the year that go to the nurses office.
