What educators are saying

This really helped my 5th graders who struggled with Interpreting Remainders in division word problems.

Description

This is a two page document.

There are four word problems on each page. Each word problem is enclosed in a box with enough room for students to show their work.

The first four word problems have "three digit dividends". The last four word problems also have "three digit dividends", but students also need to interpret the reminader on some of them.

Examples from the document:

7. There are 567 students going to the Zoo. If each car holds six students, how many total cars will be needed for the trip?

5. If you want to split 396 stickers between 5 friends, how many stickers will each friend receive? How many will be left over?

2. Lo, Jo, and Mo made $787 dollars from a bake sale. If they split the money, how much money would each person collect? How much would be left over?

8. (multi-step) You find 356 shells on the beach. You pick them up and on your way back to the beach, you lose 12 of them. With the rest of the shells, you divide them between you and your three other family members. How many will everyone receive?
