Description
After introducing text features students can practice using them in fun ways. Text feature hunt activities are one way to do that. Students go on hunts in books (or any text of your choice) to find text features such as title, table of contents, headings, bold print, photographs, labels, captions, glossary and index.
Each page has definitions and examples of one text feature at the top. One set of pages asks the students to just find the text feature. Another set of pages asks the students to find both the text feature and explain what they learned from the text feature. There is also a page for students fill out one example of each text feature without the definitions and examples being given.
It is so important to differentiate based on each individual student’s strengths and needs and this hunt allows you to do that!
The resource can also be used as an assessment.
File is provided in Publisher so you can pick and choose which pages you want to include or can adjust the wording.
