What educators are saying

I used this as part of my unit on symbolism and motifs. It was very useful and kept the students engaged.

Description

PURPOSE:

This graphic organizer is a great way to structure a discussion surrounding themes, motifs, and symbols. This also works great as a note taking page or introduction to how to find these literary devices and messages within a text.

STORY:

While in my student teaching semester, I talked with my mentor teacher about how we wished we had one concise page that held information containing themes and symbols. Thus, this page was born and bonus, it offers examples and space for learners to analyze a text.

POSSIBLE EXTENSIONS:

This sheet pairs well with my Three Theme Text Evidence graphic organizer for essay pre-writing.

MATERIALS/PRE-REQS:

Besides this file, you may require:

✏️ A text to analyze
