Directed Investigation/Assignment - Life's Little Expenses

This task uses Australian websites to guide students through an investigation into their life expenses when they leave home.

Part web-quest, part calculations, students are required to investigate their average income, the tax payable and the net income.

They are then directed to sites to help them determine the cost of a car, the rates of interest if they take a loan for the car, the cost of car expenses such as registration and fuel as well as the cost of rent and utilities.

Finally, students are guided through creating an annual budget, and then researching the cost of a holiday and whether they can afford it.

Real-life and highly applicable, students love this task!
