Description

By means of this game, children will learn about Direct and Indirect Speech through play.

There are two ways how you can play by using the board game.

Game 1 – Easy Version

Children have to throw a dice and figure out how far they should move forward. Then they have to read the sentence and decide whether the sentence is in the ‘Direct Speech’ or in the ‘Indirect Speech’.

e.g. “I don’t like bananas,” Johan said. (Direct Speech)

Silvio said that he had lost his pen. (Indirect Speech)

Game 2 – Hard Version

Children have to throw a dice and figure out how far they should move forward. Then they have to read the sentence. If the sentence is in the direct speech, they have to change it in the indirect speech and vice versa.

E.g. “I don’t like bananas,” Johan said. (Direct Speech)

Johan said that he didn’t like bananas. (Answer – Indirect Speech)

Silvio said that he had lost his pen. (Indirect Speech)

Silvio said, “I lost my pen.” (Answer – Direct Speech)
