Make reviewing words with diphthongs fun with these easy-to-use literacy worksheets!

This bundle that features passages with the oi and oy diphthongs and the ou and ow diphthongs is appropriate not only for students in grades 3rd-5th, but also for older learners, English language learners, or students with learning disabilities in the area of reading.

    • Instructions on how to conduct a fluency assessment
    • A word sort that can help students see consistencies within the written language
    • Two vocabulary worksheets

    • A board game to be played with 2+ people
    • A fun drawing activity

    A satisfied teacher reported:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "This provided both fluency practice as well as vocabulary practice while working with the diphthong ow/ou in a way that didn't feel too young or simple for my upper ms students who are in my reading group. This was a great way for me to work on the concept without making them feel like I was teaching down to a skill they didn't know yet. That is a big challenge for these older students who still need some of the advanced phonics practice."

Students should first master long vowel digraphs before attempting diphthongs. Check out the Long Vowel Digraphs Bundle for over 75 pages of little to no-prep activities to take the guesswork out of providing excellent reading resources for your students while saving you precious prep time!
