Dinosaur Extinction Simulation Board Game (Google Classroom, Distance Learning)
- PPTX
Description
Distance Learning Update: This game would also go GREAT over a Zoom or Google Meet session. Instead of counters, students could use cereal pieces or any small pieces to simulate the dinosaurs, and you can use a website for the dice roll.
This is the perfect game to teach your class about the effects of the Meteor Impact that led to the extinction of the dinosaurs. It is highly interactive and entertaining for kids, while providing meaningful content that is sure to help your students fully understand the impacts of that day.
Students receive Dinosaur Playing Pieces which they must distribute on a game board map of the World millions of years ago. The Meteor Strike sets off a series of events that students need to try to survive with some strategy and luck. A Powerpoint guides the students through events that happened after the meteor impact and guides students to make game decisions with their own dinosaur game pieces. Can they survive?
This game is perfect for all grades from 3rd through High School, as it contains relevant information and challenging vocabulary that will stimulate each of these grades.
My class LOVES this lesson each year and begs to play it again and again.
