This was a great assessment to use for dimensional analysis. I definitely prefer using something interactive like this as opposed to a traditional test. I asked students to present their calculations on a Canva/ Poster presentation in the end which wrapped up the unit nicely.
Description
Combine Geography with Math in this travel based activity using dimensional analysis! Students will choose a country to visit, then use a search engine along with dimensional analysis answer questions about that country such as how far away the nearest airport is, how far it is from your hometown to that country, how long and wide the country is, how much their money is worth compared to a U.S. dollar, how long it would take to get there, etc.
This is a great project to wrap up a unit on dimensional analysis, and because each student chooses a different country there is no "shared work" as well as no answer key. Many of the ratios needed are included on the project.
