Students love digital escape rooms and Thanksgiving math. Combine them and we have a fun and engaging escape room. Perfect for Fall and November

This digital breakout activity is based on a Thanksgiving feast. It is a great way to introduce yourself as that "fun" teacher with an engaging activity. Students must solve 5 math activities and crack the code to a digital lock that opens a safe with all the food required for a feast.

The Story:

Thanksgiving is approaching, and everyone is excited to catch up with friends and family. Uncles and Aunts have flown from the other side of the country to join the annual festivities and be a part of the family traditions.

The fridge is jam-packed with all of the goodies for the big family feast. There are potatoes, corn, green beans, yams, and of course the turkey.

The problem is that someone has decided to lock all the food in a safe and nobody knows the passwords and codes to open it.

This is a DIGITAL Escape room. There is no need to copy or laminate anything! But your students will need a Google account as the resource is hosted on Google Sites (make sure your school district can access these). There are links that will ask students to copy the Google Slides required to solve the puzzles.

Thanksgiving Math Digital Escape Room Clues

• Counting on from a 3-digit number with 2 Digit and 1 Digit numbers with regrouping
• Addition and subtraction of 3-digit numbers with regrouping
• 3-digit addition with regrouping cryptogram
• Skip counting by 5 and 10
• Following directions puzzle on a grid

Please remember, that this is a digital product, you will receive a .pdf that will have a download link on it. When you click the link it will direct you to the resource. From there, you can email it to students, use Google Classroom or just use your usual method of distribution to students. My wife just types the address on the whiteboard and her students just type it into their browser.

This escape room is not only perfect for Thanksgiving, but all year round. An ideal team-building activity. Great first day of school activities for third, fourth, fifth, and sixth-grade students.
