Description

WHAT IS IT?

Digital Close Reading: Macbeth is a fully digital resource that guides students through a digital close read of the “Tomorrow” soliloquy from William Shakespeare’s tragedy, Macbeth. Using annotation cues, students will arrive at an understanding of Shakespeare’s light and dark symbolism, the theme of time, and tone. It can also be printed and used as a hardcopy resource. A suggested answer key is included.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Teachers can assign this resource using Google Classroom or Google Drive. Students will use the highlighting function and circle tool to key in on details in the text and textboxes and comments to write marginal notes. Through their investigation of light and dark symbolism, contextual word study, and thematic study of time, students will arrive at an understanding of Macbeth’s tone.
