Differentiated HERO'S JOURNEY Wheels

I need a HERO!! This resource was created to guide students through Joseph Campbell’s HERO’S JOURNEY at any grade level or developmental state. The graphic organizers build from 4 to 8 to 12 steps, but maintain the same layout to reinforce already learned steps.

When used regularly, this pattern-based tool guides students through the logical thinking processes and cue their brains to past learning when adding elements to the Hero's Journey.

This resource includes the following:

  • 4 different Hero's Journey Wheels so it can be used for any grade level
    • 4 steps
    • 8 steps
    • 12 steps

  • Two of the Hero's Journey Wheels have 2 levels of differentiation
    • With and Without lines to guide writing.

Suggestions for how to use this resource:

  • Use differentiated Hero’s Wheels to modify student assignments in general education/inclusion settings.
  • Use differentiated Hero’s Wheels in special education settings to provide access to grade level content and curriculum.
  • Introduce HERO’S JOURNEY to younger grade levels in manageable chunks.
  • Print at 80% or 2 two a page for reading notebooks.
  • Print poster size as an anchor chart.
  • Use as a pattern-based tool/consistent graphic organizer for theme to trigger student though processes.
  • Differentiate an assignment by using multiple worksheets throughout the class to meet abilities and needs.
  • Provide the accommodation of visual support and representations.
