This is a very thorough activity, and I have been really impressed with how my students have done on it. We used this after our end of year Zoo field trip, where the students did research on what zoo features they liked/didn't like.
Oh my gosh! This was amazing! I used it as an end of the year activity to extend our learning on ecosystems. The kids had a blast and worked for almost a week on it! There were lots of grumbles about the budget pages, but I loved them! They extended it by creating a slideshow of their zoos!

In Design a Zoo, students take on the role of a design consultant asked to create a new zoo. Students will need to:
–Name the Zoo
–Create a welcoming sign
–Select the animals
–Design animal habitats
–Create information sheets
–Create a budget
–And present their work to a "Board of Directors"
This experience is designed to be completed without substantial teacher input. To achieve that end, a variety of digital enhancements are included.
To be used as a digital experience, a certain level of computer skills are required to be successful. Some directions for the skills required have been inserted throughout the document for student and teacher guidance.
**In order for you and your students to be successful, you should be comfortable sharing and accessing documents on Google Drive.**
