Density and Buoyancy Flipchart Properties of Matter

This Activinspire flipchart discusses how density and buoyancy are physical properties of matter that we live with daily. It also includes instructions for completing an experiment in small groups. Students will design a boat from a small piece of aluminum foil. The boat will be holding a cargo of paper clips. As they drop the paper clips into their boat, they count to see how many clips their design will hold. Students come together and share their boat designs and paper clip totals. This activity requires students to design, create, and construct their boat. It also requires students to evaluate and analyze each boat's effectiveness using their knowledge of volume and mass.
