Density Game "Sink or Swim" Review Activity

This density game helps science students review and practice their density calculation skills. This game gives students a chance for repeated practice in a fun, competitive format.

In this activity, students play a war-like game called "sink or swim" in order to practice using the formula for calculating density. It reviews how to calculate density when both the volume and the mass are provided.

The lesson and activity review the concepts of mass, volume, density, floating and sinking. All problems include the mass and volume and require the density to be calculated. This product does not include problems where the mass or volume are missing and the density is given. (We are not required to teach that process in my grade level.) In addition to the 24 game cards, there are 6 blank cards where more challenging problems could be written in by the teacher.
