Delicious Doubles 1st Grade Addition Practice

Give your young mathematicians more practice with doubles to ten. This picture requires students to solve math doubles such as 1+1, 2+2, 3+3, 4+4 and 5+5 in order to discover a mystery picture of yummy food. Students may need assistance reading the color "key," but once you've shown them what color to fill in each section of the puzzle after solving the math problems, they should be able to complete this picture with ease. This is a fabulous follow up to a lesson about doubles. It can be used for a math center activity, as morning work or bell work, or as a quick and fun math assessment. My first graders loved it!
