Description

Students practice their skills of changing degrees into radians and radians into degrees in this game of Degrees & Radians WAR.

It is played like the card game "War," where each student has a deck of cards with all the degrees and radians of the unit circle. Students shuffle their own deck and turn over the first card of their deck. They compare to see which value is larger, and whomever has the larger value wins those two cards, turns them over face-down on the table and the students go again. After players exhaust their deck of cards, they shuffle their victories and use these as new stacks, and the game continues. This goes until one player ends up with all the cards.

In the event of a tie (e.g. one student pulls a 30 degrees and another pulls pi/6), students count 3 cards faced-down in front of them from their hands, and turn over the 4th card. Whomever has the highest value on this card wins all 10 cards!

Included in the purchase are the cut-outs for the cards. Each radian measure is matched up to the corresponding degree in the PDF, so you can use this as an answer key as well. Each student gets their own stack, so make a class set. I put these on colored paper and laminated them. Please rate me! :) Enjoy!

*This game can also be used as a matching game*
