Description

Designed to provide teachers with a research-based resource for early readers, these roll and read pages provide decoding practice with short vowel words containing the digraphs CH, SH, TH, and CK (CCVC and CVCC words). These pages are ideal for small group instruction and intervention, independent work, centers, or to send home for extra reading practice. You will receive a total of 3 roll and read pages for each digraph, as well as 5 pages that contain a mix of all digraphs (17 pages total). The digraph of focus is noted at the top of each page. Each page contains 6 boxes comprised of decodable short vowel CCVC and CVCC digraph words and a game die graphic. After rolling the game die, students will read the list of words in the corresponding box. The words are completely decodable and appropriate for beginning readers. The skill of decoding is critical to the development of reading proficiency. Continued practice with decoding will positively impact the ability to read fluently and comprehend the text.

You can print and laminate the pages, or place printed pages in a sheet protector for durability.
