Description
A 30 minute script that introduces the students to Claude Debussy. This lesson includes:
- A brief, child-friendly biography of Debussy's life.
- An explination of his "impressionistic" style.
- a brief exercise to help students listen for both the "sea" and the "wind" in the piece.
- A video that gives visual clues to corresponding activities to conduct as you listen to the 8 minute long piece, La Mer: Dialogue of the Wind and the Sea.
There is no Listening Map in this lesson due to the (non-repetitive) nature of this piece. Instead, the video serves as the "map."
