Description

These two complementary vocabulary activities will help your students expand their ability to successfully communicate about el Día de los Muertos. Students will match pictures of iconic Day of the Dead items to both their name and description in Spanish. This is an excellent supplementary activity to go along with your Day of the Dead lessons, and a perfect accompaniment to your favorite Day of the Dead documentary.

This activity is best suited for intermediate level Spanish students, but can easily be modified for students at all levels. Challenge your advanced students by having them write their own Spanish descriptions!

It can even be modified for students who don't speak any Spanish at all, by foregoing the use of the word bank and having students write in the words and descriptions themselves!

This product includes three pages:

-1 page with individual pictures of seven iconic Day of the Dead items for students to identify and describe

-1 page with a picture of an alter with decorations and offerings for students to label

-1 word bank with vocabulary words and their descriptions (in Spanish) for students to use to complete the first two pages
