Are you looking for engaging Day of the Dead activities for kids to celebrate Día de los Muertos in the classroom? Your first and second grade students can learn about the holiday in Mexico and their traditions, vocabulary, and symbols with this easy to use resource. They’ll make a colorful sugar skull craft that’s perfect for a Day of the Dead bulletin board.

They can cut and glue colored shapes onto the skull or color them to create a bright and colorful sugar skull. The prep is easy. Most student pages are print and go. The materials needed for the craft are just colored paper, scissors, and glue.
