Description
This lesson is designed to teach the simple past tense in German for the verbs "to be" and "to have" (sein und haben) in the affirmative, interrogative and negative forms. It serves as an introductory lesson for the past tense. The lesson comprises 43 slides that incorporate captivating images and color-coded sentences, all aimed at enhancing the retention of vocabulary. It includes various adverbs of time.
The teacher will start by introducing the concepts of past, present, and future, along with common adverbs of time. Then, they will proceed to teach the past forms of the verbs "to be" and "to have" and provide example sentences to illustrate their usage. Following this, the teacher will guide students through repetition drills, including substitution drills, to reinforce their understanding of the past tense.
Finally, the lesson will encourage students to construct sentences in the past with more freedom, allowing them to practice using the newly learned structures and expressions. By doing so, the lesson aims to reinforce vocabulary within a meaningful and contextual framework. It takes up to 1 hour for a good practice.
