Daily Math Review Set 4 Grade 4:

Daily Math Review’s purpose is to review concepts already taught in approximately ten minutes each day. The goal is to develop fluency, accuracy and speed in students. It may be used for bell work or stations. Students review six concepts every day for a week. Each question is marked with TEKS on the top. All questions are open ended, and students are expected to show the work to help teachers understand their thought process. Teacher Exemplar that comes along with each DMR helps teachers to set expectations for students to respond to each question.

It’s advisable to work as a whole class on Monday’s to ensure students know what is expected of them.

The week before implementing DMR for bell work:

1. Set up a place in the class room for completed DMR’s

2. Set up a time for yourself each day to go through student responses and put your comments.

3. Print the whole set (3 sheets per student) and staple.

4. Print one or two copies extra.

5. Place the DMR packet on students’ desks before they arrive, if you are doing it for bell work.

6. Introduce students to DMR and set expectations as to how and when to complete it. You may decide on number of minutes based on your class.
