Description

This is a Daily Journal you can use with students to begin each class period. I've used it with students in grades 10 through the first year of college. I have collected these prompts from multiple sources, organizing them into eighty days of writing, with three prompts the student can choose from each day.

Here's what the journal states:

When you enter the classroom and while other fellow students are coming into class, you should open your Journal. When the bell rings, you should begin writing in their journal, writing approximately 200 words per entry. You will have 12 minutes to write (see the following page) while the teacher records attendance. Each day, you can choose between the following prompts:

Creative Fiction

a creative piece that is mostly fictional

Personal Narrative

a creative, narrative piece based on your life

Persuasive

a structured argument using reasoning and evidence
