Description
This year-long DAILY EDITS is the ultimate interactive proofreading BUNDLE for older kids (grades 5-8). Students receive their own Google Slides digital weekly notebook. Each week has five daily edits, for a yearly total of 205+ paragraphs to correct and edit with movable (drag and drop) editing symbols. A Google Form quiz over editing symbols was just added to this bundle. This resource includes 49 WEEKS (205 total edits), enough to cover each school day of a nine month school year. If there are any extra, you could use them for additional practices or assessments. Students simply drag and drop the movable proofreading symbols to correct errors and then type the corrected paragraph. It's interactive and engaging. Teachers receive a full Google Slide deck with each student edit and answer key (205 answer keys). These can be completed as daily bell ringers/warm-ups, stations/centers, homework, or quick assessments. It is CCSS aligned (CCRA.L.2-Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing). Numerous skills are spiraled in each Daily Edit Set. Look below to learn more. Watch this short video to see one of my Daily Edits sets in action. *Daily Edit sets are organized in weeks, making it super easy to assign in Google Classroom or to share the link with students. *If your school doesn't use Google, these can easily be changed to PowerPoint and shared that way.

✣ Who? It works best for grades 5-8, due to the skill level of errors.
✣ Can these be used on different months than how they are organized? Definitely! Some weeks have some paragraphs geared toward the month, but most paragraphs aren't themed based. Either way, they can be used anytime.
✣ What skills are covered in each set? punctuation, abbreviations/initials, run-on sentences, dialogue, commas in a series, appositives, apostrophes in contractions, apostrophes in possessives, commas after an introductory clause, fragments, homonyms, spelling, proper nouns, double negatives, coordinating adjectives, and more.
✣ How long does each Daily Edit take? I spend 10-15 minutes (5-8 min. to complete and 5-7 min. to discuss correct answers)
✣ When should Daily Edits be used? These could be used as bellringers, centers/stations, homework, or assessments.
✣ How long will each Daily Edit set last? It depends on how often you use them. If you use them daily, these sets will last for the entire school year. Obviously, if you use them less, they will last longer. ☺︎
