Description

This product is designed to be used with students Kindergarten to 2nd grade who are in need of extra practice with number sense, problem solving, and fact fluency.

I have had great success using these materials to organize my daily calendar math (a.k.a. morning math, a.k.a. board math). Print the models/visuals that you desire, laminate them, adhere them to a board/bulletin, and use an expo marker. You can lead the activity or have a student helper go for it! It is a powerful math lesson to use with students on a daily basis!

If you want to take it to the next level, I have included several different student worksheets that students can complete as they follow along with your morning math routine. In the past I have put these in a plastic sheet protector sleeve and had students use a skinny black Expo marker to complete. But it would work with pencil-and-paper as well, if paper conservation is not a concern.

Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
