Description

Daily 5 CAFE Strategy Cards and Template

I decided that I wanted my students to have their own “Mini Menu”
for CAFÉ that they could update as we did our Mini Lessons or our
Conferences. I use Green 3-prong Pocket Folders for our
“Reading Semi-Interactive Notebooks” and thought this “Mini Menu”
would go great glued to the inside cover! *Depending on the pocket folder and the sizes of the pockets, you may need to adjust the lengths of the top and bottom templates that are glued down to the inside front cover and pocket. Make one copy and then check this out before you make multiple copies. :)

For my class I copied the strategy cards on Green Cardstock for the
Comprehension Strategies, Yellow Cardstock for the Accuracy Strategies,
Orange Cardstock for the Fluency Strategies, and Blue Cardstock for the
Expand Vocabulary Strategies.

Included in this download are 2 different ways to print off the mini cards.

* One way is to do enough for 30 students at a time:
(each strategy is listed 30 times all together) by printing the 25 page file
using (in order) 10 sheets of your Comprehension color, 5 sheets of your
Accuracy color, 5 sheets of you Fluency color, and 5 sheets of your Expand
Vocabulary color. I did this and I then cut them up and put them in 37
ziplock type bags and I am ready to use them as the moment comes up!

* Another way to copy them is using the 5 page file which will run 4 students
at a time. You will need 2 sheets of the color you will use for Comprehension
then 1 sheet of your colors for Accuracy, Fluency, and Expand Vocabulary.

I also copied the “Mini Menu” on White Cardstock putting 6 above the pocket
and some on the pocket. There are blank spaces for other strategies!

To keep with my Green and Yellow theme this year I printed off the CAFE Block
Letter 2 page file, highlighted a set of the letters in yellow then added green dots.
I cut these out and glued them in the first row on the “Mini Menu” as headers!

These templates were made in Word so feel free to edit at will.

This coordinates with my Free Product: Daily 5 CAFÉ Menu Simple Headers
