Description

A FANTASTIC way to end the year! Students design their own household products!!

Shoe cleaner, car wax, toothpaste, deodorant, surface cleaners and SO MUCH MORE!

We invited local business owners and representatives from the city water department to discuss the environmental impact of household products and what it takes to make a product for the general market. Even without the guests, this was a great culminating project for students to demonstrate skills and knowledge gained in chemistry and venture into application and engineering.

Procedure writing, Safety protocols, and Cost analysis, this project asks students in groups or solo to really dig into what it takes to design a product. Welcome to the Shark Tank!!

To support the project, Here is a FREE Guide for students evaluating store-bought products they aim to compete with. Researching ingredients, labeling, and function, it adds a good structure allowing students to objectively score their product alongside a competitor.

Enjoy!
