DECEMBER LITERACY CENTERS AND MATH CENTERS

This resources contains 6 literacy centers and 6 math centers to be used during the month of December.

LITERACY CENTERS INCLUDED:

Phonics Center:

Print and laminate the Word Family Ladders (2 for each short vowel sound) mats. Have your learners change the beginning sound to make new words. Learners may complete the printable while at the center or as an assessment after.

Pocket Chart Center:

Print and laminate the alphabet cards. Have your learners sort the cards by uppercase, lowercase and initial sound pictures onto a pocket chart. Learners may complete the printable while at the center or as an assessment after.

Reading Center:

Print the pages and purchase a photo album from a dollar store. Insert the title and pages into the photo album. Laminate the word holder for each book and velcro the word cards onto the holder page and place lamination on the blank book pages. Learners may read the book at the center and fill in the missing words for the second portion of the book.

Sight Word Center:

Edit the sight word cards (directions in product description) to meet your needs, print and laminate the sight word strips and letter cards. Have your learners pick a sight word strip and make the word using the letter cards. Learners may complete the printable while at the center or as an assessment after.

Word Play Center:

Print and laminate CVC cards and place around the room. Have your learners find the cards around the room and write the letters they hear in each word. 3 sets provided.

Writing Center:

Print and laminate the sentence strips. Have your learners read the sentence and write a new sentence with a capital at the beginning and punctuation at the end. Extra sentences are provided that you may edit (follow directions in product description). Learners may complete the printable while at the center or as an assessment after.

MATH CENTERS INCLUDED:

Math Center 1: (Money Clip Cards)

Print and laminate the clip cards. Have your learners use a clothespin and clip the ten frame that shows the correct coin(s) on the card. Learners may complete the printable while at the center or as an assessment after. Two versions are provided.

Math Center 2: (Roll and Add)

Print and laminate the addition mats, ornaments and create the dice. Have the learners roll the dice, place the ornaments on the mat and write the equation. Learners may complete the printable while at the center or as an assessment after. Two versions are provided.

Math Center 3: (100 Chart Bingo)

Print and laminate the charts, number cards and bingo pieces (mini erasers can be used, too). Have the learners draw a number from a bin or sack, say the number aloud and cover the number on their bingo chart. Learners may complete the printable while at the center or as an assessment after. Three versions (20, 50, 100) are provided.

Math Center 4: (Write the Room - Missing Number)

Print and laminate the number cards and place around the room. Have the learners find the cards throughout the room and write the numbers on their printable. Two sets are provided.

Math Center 5: (Counting Down)

Print and laminate the number cards and counting strips. Have your learners choose a card and find the counting strip that shows counting down by three. Learners may complete the printable while at the center or as an assessment after.

Math Center 6: (Making 5/10)

Print and laminate the mats, peppermints and number cards. Have learners write the way the candy makes 5 or 10 with a dry erase marker or use the number cards provided. Learners may complete the printable while at the center or as an assessment after.. Four versions are provided (Decomposing 5, Composing 5, Decomposing 10, Composing 10)

How do I know if a resource has been updated?

If a file has been updated, you will see a notification under the resource that says "Newly Updated – Download for Free!".

You will need to download fonts specified in the resource and install it on your computer before downloading the editable file. You will need to download KG Blank Space to edit this resource.

Install the most recent version of Adobe Reader onto your computer. If you have any problems editing, viewing or printing a file make sure your Adobe Reader is updated.

Now you can download the file to your computer. Once the file has downloaded open in Adobe Reader. You should be able to view the editable fields and the text should match the product description.
