Description
For this DBQ, students are asked to answer the question, "How did Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton impact the development of political parties?"
The DBQ consists of 8 documents on 4 different areas of disagreement between Jefferson and Hamilton (French Revolution, size of government, national bank, debt). Each area of disagreement offers a document for each person's perspective. All sources are primary sources.
Also included is an advanced organizer on the two political parties to activate the schema of the students before beginning the DBQ.
The question can also be turned into a "Hamilton Vs. Jefferson" prompt if you are wanting to make it more of a binary argument; the documents still definitely suite that purpose.
